Continuing seventy-five years of service to our community.
Willow Glen’s businesses have been organized, active and supportive of our community since the 1930’s… And from 1984 on, the Willow Glen Business Association (WGBA) has helped assist them in maintaining and promoting downtown Willow Glen as a place to eat, shop and locate new businesses.
As part of its charter, the WGBA helps:
• Maintain and beautify downtown Willow Glen
• Promote a positive identity for Willow Glen’s business community through:
- Public Relations
- Events & Festivals
- Infrastructure and Beautification
The WGBA organizes lots of events to bring people together in Downtown Willow Glen, such as holiday cable car rides, wine walks, trick or treat for kids, and festivals such as Dancin' on the Avenue. We also sponsor community events and programs such as the Willow Glen 5K Run and Safe Routes to School Program.
The WGBA was formed in 1984 and in 1988 it was incorporated as a non-profit organization under the California Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation Law and is qualified as a non-profit organization under IRS Code Section 501(c)(6), and goverened by corporate bylaws.
When Willow Glen’s property owners received approval from the City Council in 2008 to form a Community Benefit Improvement District (CBID), the WGBA was selected to manage it. The CBID was implemented in January 2010 and the BID was phased out. See how CBID benefits Willow Glen>>
Funding & Management
In addition to managing CBID funds, the WGBA is also supported by sponsorships, associate member dues, grants and revenue from festival and events. A volunteer board of directors representing business and property owners, and associate and community members, manages the association with the help of a small paid staff.
