Lincoln Avenue Lane Reconfiguration

In Fall 2014 District 6 Councilmember Pierluigi Oliverio proposed that the City of San José Department of Transportation (DOT) implement a trial road diet on Lincoln Avenue in Spring 2015.   The trial was completed in March, April and May 2015.   You may read the DOT's reports about the trial here:

The DOT asked for a recommendation from both the Willow Glen Business Association and the Willow Glen Neighborhood Association about whether to make the changes permanent (see presentation by Hans Larsen at the February 12, 2015 community meeting) .  At the Willow Glen Business Association's Board of Directors meeting on June 23, 2015 a vote was taken about the WGBA's recommendation to the DOT about the road diet.  In a vote of 10 to 4 the recommendation of the WGBA was that the road diet not be made permanent when the road is repaved.
